• October is one of the better months to be in the Spokane area—fall colors, Green Bluff harvest season, Halloween activities, concerts, and some good day trips. I checked the October 2026 calendars, and there’s quite a bit happening.

🍎 Green Bluff — my top October pick

Plan at least one day at Green Bluff, about 30 minutes north of Spokane. October is prime harvest season, with apples, pumpkins, cider, corn mazes and farm activities. Harvest festivals continue through October 31 at several farms. Rios and Co

One option is North Ridge in Mead. I’d make Green Bluff a half-day or full-day outing rather than trying to squeeze it into a couple of hours.

🎃 October 9–11 — particularly good weekend

The Pacific Northwest Food Festival runs October 9–11 downtown.

Also, that weekend:

• Halloween X-SPO — October 10–11, Spokane Convention Center. Spokane Convention Center

• Spokane Marathon — October 11. Rios and Co

• Gershwin's Rhapsody in Blue — October 10 at the Fox Theater. Rios and Co

👻 Halloween & fall activities

Riverfront Park is scheduled to have Ghost Story Tours on October 9, 16, 23 and 31. Rios and Co

Later in the month, downtown has several Halloween events, including the Halloween Bar Crawl October 30–31 and Downtown Spokane Trunk or Treat on October 31 from 11 a.m.–2 p.m.

🎬 October 30 — The Goonies in Concert

This one looks especially fun: Spokane Symphony: The Goonies in Concert, October 30 from 7:30–9:30 p.m. The movie is shown while the score is performed live.

🍂 Enjoy Spokane's fall colors

For a non-event day, I'd do Manito Park, especially the Japanese Garden and Duncan Garden, followed by a drive through the South Hill neighborhoods. You can also stop at Gaiser Conservatory, which has fall hours through October 31.

Another excellent choice is Riverside State Park/Bowl & Pitcher for an easy fall hike along the Spokane River.
